![]() If the cards are from two different calendar servers then they both get all the same information and Bus圜ontacts merges the view so there is only one card shown. Select the contacts and the Merge and Link function will combine all information between the two cards. They are both working well but are usually out of sync with each other. I use iCloud and the new Fastmail cardDAV contact syncing. My absolutely favorite feature of Bus圜ontacts is the Merge and Link function. ![]() It’d be nice to have my mail history in the Bus圜ontacts sidebar too. It’s pretty standard but it’s a bummer for me as a MailMate user. Unfortunately, Bus圜ontacts only supports Mail.app. I like the “Journal” features which creates a calendar event in Bus圜al and drops me right into the notes field for that event. Selecting a contact, I can create an event or reminder. Integration between Bus圜ontacts and Bus圜al is well done. I like that I can reply right from Bus圜ontacts too. I didn’t test the Facebook or LinkedIn integration. The calendar information shows all past and future appointments, which is spectacular for reviewing projects. Click on a contact and in the side bar you can see your previous conversations or just what they’ve been tweeting. The first thing that caught my attention with Bus圜ontacts was the integration of messages, mail and Twitter history for contacts. Bus圜ontacts nails everything I use a contact manager for and adds some clever bonus features. I just want it to make my life easy and I want to spend as little effort and time as possible making it work. It’s not flashy but I don’t really want a flashy utilitarian tool. Those are just a few token benefits beyond, you know, actually finding a phone number when you need it.īus圜ontacts makes organizing and editing contact information almost easy. The map app will highlight people and businesses in search on on the map. Phonetic spellings can also help Siri to recognize a spoken contact. Siri can recognized relationships if you have them defined. But, a well groomed address book is a powerful enabler. It’s not going to be enjoyable and the most you can hope for is to end up where you started. Much of the time, managing contacts in the address book makes me think of Sisyphus waking up every morning and thinking about his day. Once your contacts are correctly showing in Alfred (without using the Spotlight metadata method), you should be able to open them in Bus圜ontacts. After using Bus圜ontacts on my Mac for the past 6 months, I can declare it’s the most I will ever enjoy managing contacts. Take a look at the other bullet points in the first section of this Contacts Troubleshooting post too: Check that Alfred is listed in OS X's Security & Privacy preferences > Privacy > Contact and that the box next to Alfred is checked. if Alfred isn't finding your contacts is to check that you've given him permission to search your OS X contacts. The first thing to resolve here is for Alfred to show you contacts (without using the metadata alternative way of returning contacts). How do I get Alfred to at least show me the contact I'm looking for again? Summary - Alfred doesn't show the contacts like it has been told to do, and Bus圜ontacts (I know this is probably a BC problem) doesn't either. ![]() ![]() But it doesn't - it switches to BC, which doesn't show the contact I was searching for. I did this, and now searching for a contact in Alfred doesn't search for Contacts.Īnd if I re-enable it, and search for a contact, it tells me, in the results, that if I hit enter it will show the contact in Alfred. It says to uncheck Use Spotlight metadata for searching contacts. I found this information started to follow it to see if it would help. vcf files are associated with BC and my url scheme is busycontacts://show/ and Open Contacts in Alfred is checked. Prior to today, when I searched for Contacts using Alfred, It would show me the contact, and if I wanted to open it, it would switch to Bus圜ontacts, but it would not show the contact - BC would remain on whatever contact was currently open. I've been having trouble with Alfred & Bus圜ontacts for a short while now, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. ![]()
